CERAMİC AND GLASS DEPARTMENT

Cappadocia has a long history in ceramics and pottery, which is home to many cultures day by day from Neolithic times. Ceramics and Glass Department established in Cappadocia, one of the most important geographical regions of the world, started education and training with a total of 60 quotas in 2013 as normal education and secondary education. Our aim is to provide our students with a multi-faceted education with national-international events in a privileged region with historical values, and the opportunity to explore themselves in art, design and application areas is presented.

It has a strategic prescription in terms of preserving the rich ceramic cultures in the region and transferring them to future generations, taking advantage of the values ​​by cooperating with the student - teaching staff and the pottery masters of the region, establishing sector - school unity, continuity of our department and watching innovative attitude.

Our department aims to train researchers, interrogators, solution oriented, equipped and equipped individuals by providing comprehensive training through theoretical and applied course curriculum. By understanding the types and boundaries of ceramic materials and using modern ceramics technology, it has a multi-faceted understanding of education by knowing traditional methods.

The graduated student can work in any kind of field related to the ceramic industry, establish personal workshops, become a designer, and progress in the industrial-artistic field. After four years of their training, graduates of Ceramics and Glass Department can teach in vocational high school, (if they have received a formation certificate). Graduates can complete PhD / Art Proficiency training and become academicians. They can work in public education centers that are opened in private art galleries, universities, graphic agencies, museums and municipalities.
